ISRO SATELLITE CENTRE [ISAC] is one of the major Research and Development Centres of Indian Space Research Organisation [ISRO] responsible for development of Satellite Technology. Over the years, ISAC has planned and executed several satellite missions of ISRO. Having successfully developed and deployed state-of-the-art operational satellites for Communication, Meteorology and Remote Sensing, the Centre is poised to leapfrog into development of advanced versions of satellites like Microwave Remote Sensing Satellites, Direct Broadcasting Satellites, Interplanetary probes, Scientific Missions, etc. Towards self-reliance, indigenous development of various advanced and critical technologies in the Satellite development activities are very essential. The Space programme in our country is focused on providing highly reliable operational services for socio-economic development of the country. Opportunities are available for the Young Scientists to associate themselves in pursuing Research & Development work in cutting edge technologies.How to apply :Candidates may visit our website: www.isac.gov.in to register their applications on-line.Applications will be received on-line only.The candidates should register their applications on-line between 16-02-2008 to 07-03-2008.Upon registration, applicants will be provided with an on-line Registration Number, which should be carefully preserved for future reference.The on-line application has to be invariably followed-up with a ''No Objection Certificate'' from the employer concerned, by those already in employment under Central/State Government, Public Sector Undertakings, Autonomous Bodies or any Organisation which is aided by Government. The ''No Objection Certificate'' duly indicating the name and Registration Number on the reverse should be sent to the Administrative Officer (RMT), ISRO Satellite Centre, Airport Road, Bangalore 560017, without which the application will not be considered.Age Limit:Age limit is 30 Years as on 07-03-2008 (35 years in case of SC/ST and 33 years in the case of OBC candidates).Ex-Serviceman and Persons with Disability are eligible for age relaxation as per rules.Selection Process:There will be an initial screening based on the on-line application. The criteria for screening will include factors such as percentage/class in Degree, etc. vis-a-vis number of total applications.The screened-in candidates will have to appear for an interview with the Selection Committee.Travelling Allowance:Outstation candidates called for interview will be paid to and fro Second Class Railway Fare by the shortest route from the address given in the web application to the place of interview or bus fare, whichever is less, on production of proof of journey such as the Railway Ticket Number(s)/PNR Number(s) or Bus Ticket(s), etc. If the candidate travels in a higher class of accommodation than the one prescribed, only SECOND CLASS rail fare excluding reservation charges/sleeper charges will be paid.Fellowship Amount:Rs. 12000/- per month + 30% HRA [For 1st and 2nd year]Rs. 14000/- per month + 30% HRA [For subsequent years]Other Conditions/Instructions:The Fellowship will be initially for a period of TWO YEARS. ISAC will review the performance after two years and decide whether the Fellowship should be continued for the third year. Similarly, at the end of the third year also ISAC will review his/her case and decide whether extension for another year should be given. Candidates must invariably list the details of specific experience/project work in the web box titled 'Experience/Project'. It will be used for screening. Serving Junior Research Fellows with aptitude to pursue research in respective areas will be encouraged to pursue Ph.D with an external university registration. Candidates called for interview will have to produce all relevant original documents in proof of details furnished in their applications submitted on-line, at the time of interview. If any information furnished on-line is found to be wrong or false, the candidate will not be interviewed and TA will not be paid.Only Indian nationals need apply. ISAC reserves the right not to fill up the post(s), if it so decides. OR M.Sc(Tech) in Engineering Phsyics in First Class with minimum 65% marks(aggregate of all semesters). OR B.Tech in Optical Instrumentation/Opto-Electronics in First Class with minimum 65% marks (aggregate of all semesters) OR BE in Optical Engineering in First Class with 65% marks or above (aggregate of all semesters).06 (Junior Research Fellow) :M.Sc in Material Science/Solid State Physics in First Class with 65% marks or above (aggregate of all semesters). [For Thin Films Science & Technology and MEMS based developmental research]07 (Junior Research Fellow :M.Sc (Physics) in First Class with 65% marks or above (aggregate of all semesters). Candidates with exposure to astrophysics will be given preference. OR BE in Electronics Engineering in First Class with 65% marks or above (aggregate of all semesters). Candidates should have done one semester project/course in astronomy/ astrophysics.For candidates who are awarded CGPA the same should be converted to equivalent percentage as per respective University/Institution norms and should meet the above criteria.Last Date for on-line registration of application is 07-03-2008
