DAE RESEARCH AWARD FOR YOUNG SCIENTISTS
Department  of Atomic Energy (DAE) on the recommendations of  the Board  of  Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS) has  instituted  a Scheme to Grant financial assistance to Young Scientists in their  initial  years   of  settling down in a career  of  Research  and Development.   The assistance in the form of a Research Award  is  given  to exceptionally bright young scientists below the age  of  35 years.
The Award carries a maximum research grant of Rs. 17.00 lakhs in a  block  of  three  years and can be utilised  for  expenditure  on  JRF Salary,   equipment,   consumables,  travel  and  other  contingencies   in  connection with his/her research activities.
Scientists/Engineers    working   in    universities,   academic/  research  institutions of higher  learning and  having a  regular position are ONLY eligible to apply for  this  Award. 
Those   working  in  the  laboratories  and  institutions   fully  supported by government departments like DAE, DST, CSIR, ICMR and  ICAR  need  not apply for this award.  Scientists  and  engineers  working  in  R&D  organisations  of  Private  Industry  or  fully  supported  by Private Industry also need not apply.  Also,  those  who have already received earlier or are currently in receipt  of  any  research grant from any funding agency are not eligible  for  the Award.

1. Physics
2. Chemistry
3. Life and Medical Sciences
4. Engineering Sciences
5. Materials Science
6. Electronics and Instrumentation
7. Food and Agricultural Sciences
8. Radiation and Environmental Sciences and
9. Radio-isotope applications.
15 copies of the Application as per the proforma given for the DAE Research Award for Young Scientists duly recommended and forwarded by the Head of the institution/university may be sent to :
             Scientific Secretary / Programme OfficerThe following areas of interest to DAE will be considered for the award.

There is no last date for receiving the applications. The applications will be processed as and when they are received through out the year.
