ABOUT JAM: 
Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) 2016 will be held on February 07, 2016 (Sunday) for admission to Integrated Ph.D. degree programmes at IISc Bangalore (IISc) and M.Sc. (Two Years), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D, M.Sc.-Ph.D. dual degree, M.Sc.-M.Tech., and other post-Bachelor degree programmes at IITs (Bhubaneswar (IITBBS), Bombay (IITB), Delhi (IITD), Gandhinagar (IITGN), Guwahati (IITG), Hyderabad (IITH), Indore (IITI), Jodhpur (IITJ), Kanpur (IITK), Kharagpur (IITKgp), Madras (IITM), Patna (IITP), Roorkee (IITR) and Ropar (IITRPR)) for the academic session 2016-17. However, JAM score may also be used by other Institutions for admission to their programmes.
JAM 2016 is open to all nationals. But, foreign nationals will be required to satisfy the rules and regulations of the Admitting Institute(s) pertaining to foreign students for admission.
JAM 2016 is being organized by IIT Madras. All correspondence related to JAM 2016 must be addressed to Organizing Chairman, JAM 2016, GATE-JAM Office, IIT Madras, Chennai - 600036

Test Papers and Mode of Examination: JAM 2016 will have seven test papers, namely, Biological Sciences (BL), Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH), each of three hours duration. For all the papers, JAM 2016 examination will be conducted in ONLINE mode only. A candidate can appear in either one or two test papers subject to the restrictions of test schedule given below and by paying an additional fee for the second test paper.

Note: JAM 2016 Committee may add and/or drop any city as a test centre at its discretion.
APPLICATION FORMS AND INFORMATION BROCHURE
The information brochure and all other information related to JAM 2016 will be updated time to time on the website: http://jam.iitm.ac.in/jam2016. A candidate can register and apply ONLINE only for JAM 2016 from September 02, 2015 to October 14, 2015. The application fee can be paid either online or through e-challan (additional transaction charges may apply). In case, a candidate chooses to pay through e-challan, then the payment should be made in cash at any branch of the bank mentioned in the e-challan latest by October 10, 2015 (Saturday).
The application fee is non refundable. The details of application fees are given below:

TEST PAPER AND AVAILABLE ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES 
To know about the JAM test paper and the available academic programmes at various institutes, please refer to the JAM 2016 website: http://jam.iitm.ac.in/jam2016 and/or the JAM websites of the respective institutes. 
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION 
All candidates admitted through JAM should have a Bachelor’s degree. At least 55% aggregate marks without rounding off (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for General/ OBC (NCL) category candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks without rounding off (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for SC/ ST and PwD category candidates in the qualifying degree. For candidates with grades in letter/ CGPA (instead of percentage of marks) the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the Admitting Institute(s). Note: Proof of having passed the qualifying degree with required eligibility, as specified by the Admitting Institute, should be submitted by September 30, 2016. Reservation policy is as per Government of India norms.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION(S) FOR ADMISSION

JOINT ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Admission to the above mentioned academic programmes in IISc Bangalore and IITs for the academic session 2016-17 will be made on the basis of all India merit list of JAM 2016. Candidates who qualify in any test paper of JAM 2016 shall be eligible to apply for admission to all the academic programmes corresponding to that test paper, provided they also satisfy the minimum educational qualifications and the eligibility requirements, as specified by the Institute(s) in which the admission is sought. After the declaration of JAM 2016 results, qualified candidates shall be required to apply to the Organizing Institute (IIT Madras) specifying their preferences for the programmes for which the admission is sought. Candidates should note that being in the merit list of any test paper neither guarantees nor provides any automatic entitlement for admission. Further details regarding admissions, prescribed fees, etc. will be updated on the JAM 2016 website.

  1. a student jump on bungee cord with the sound measuring instrument .he swing up and down vertically with the period 2π s and monitor the frequency of sound source of frequency 1700 Hz on the ground directly below it he observer a difference of 50Hz between maximum and minimum frequency of source .the amplitude of oscillation..
