Advertisement for Junior Research Fellows
IIT Gandhinagar invites applications for 3 Junior Research Fellows (JRFs) for research and development work in a sponsored project on high performance computational modelling of engineered systems as follows:
1 JRF position in either(a) Computational Aeroacoustics or (b) Computational Biology
1 JRF position in(c) Spectral Element Modeling
and 1 JRF position in(d) Computational Image and Signal Processing
Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Engineering, excellent academic record in engineering, domain knowledge and skill sets in the specified areas, strong aptitude for mathematical and numerical modelling, knowledge of high performance computing skills in implementing computational engineering and science algorithms and softwares on multi-core and GPU/CUDA computing platforms and good communication skills. Familiarity with Linux Operating Systems and parallel computing will be useful.
The fellowship will be initially offered for one year and can be continued up to three years. The fellowship carries a consolidated monthly salary of Rs. 16000/- and medical benefits as per the Institute norms. The progress of research work would be evaluated annually through annual progress reports. On completion of the 1st year and subject to an assessment of the candidate's research progress and achievements, the JRF may be extended by another year. JRFs may also register for PhD programme in the same area of research at IIT Gandhinagar if they are admitted to the programme.
Those interested in any of the four projects are requested to download the application package from www.iitgn.ac.in/jrf_hpc.htm , choose one project of your interest and e-mail a single zipped file containing (1)Application Form, (2) Curriculum vitae, (3) List of courses done, (4) Details of project work done , (5)List of referees and their contact details and (6) a 1-2 page statement of purpose outlining your suitability for the chosen area of research to jrf @ iitgn.ac.in. Please note that your single zipped file should be named as <your last name>_jrf_hpc.zip and the E-mail header should contain the words "JRF-HPC". Candidates shortlisted for the interview are to submit the hardcopies of all these at the time of the interview.
The last date for receipt of the complete application is on 20 April 2012
