ADMISSION NOTICE

Ph.D. (SPRING SEMESTER) PROGRAMME – 2010

Applications in prescribed format are invited from the eligible candidates for the Ph.D. programme (Spring Semester) 2010. Offering Departments: Mathematical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, Physics, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, English & Foreign Languages, Business Administration, Environmental Science, Energy and Food Processing Technology. For area of research, please visit TU website:www.tezu.ernet.in .

Eligibility: (i) Master's Degree in Humanities and Social Sciences/ Management Science/Science/ Engineering/ Technology or Master's Degree in allied subject with consistently good academic record and a minimum 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA in the Master's degree. (ii) BE/ B. Tech with an aggregate of 80% marks or equivalent CGPA with valid GATE Score. (iii) A fellowship in Chartered Accountancy/ Company Secretaryship from a recognized Indian or a foreign institution with not less than 60% or equivalent CGPA having a minimum of Bachelor's degree.

Selection: On the basis of Entrance test and personal interview conducted by the concerneddepartment.

Reservation of seats and relaxation of marks will be as per Govt. of India Rules.

How to apply: Application forms alongwith prospectus can be obtained from the office of the Controller of Examinations , Tezpur University by paying Rs 500/(Rs 250/for SC/ ST) in cash or from the designated branches of AXIS Bank at Agartala, Aizwal, Bangalore,

Bongaigaon, Bhubaneswar, Dibrugarh, Guwahati (Paltan bazar), Hyderabad, Imphal, Itanagar,Jorhat, Kolkata, Kohima , Nagaon, New Delhi( Hauz Khas and Lajpat Nagar), North Lakhimpur, Pune, Shillong, Silchar, Tinsukia and Tezpur ( proper addresses of the banks maybe obtained from Tezpur University website) by paying Rs. 520/(Rs 270/forSC/ ST) only incash or (ii) by sending a request to the Controller of Examinations, Tezpur University, P.O.Napaam,

Tezpur, PIN784028,Assam with a bank draft of Rs. 560/(Rs 310/for SC/ST) only drawn in favour of the Registrar, Tezpur University payable at Tezpur and a self addressed unstamped envelop of size 30cm x 25cm or (iii) by down loading from Tezpur University website.

Downloaded application form must be accompanied by a Bank Draft of Rs. 500/(Rupees five hundred) only drawn in favour of the Registrar, Tezpur University payable at Tezpur.
