Ph.D. ADMISSIONS - 2009
ARIES is a premier research institute in North India for pursuing Ph.D. degree in areas of Astronomy & Astrophysics and Atmospheric Sciences. ARIES will be selecting highly motivated young students for the Ph.D. program to be started from July, 2009. The Ph.D. program is normally for a maximum duration of five years. The monthly stipend is currently Rs.12000 for the first two years, and Rs.14000 after successful completion of the first two years. In addition, the Ph.D. scholars are also eligible for an annual book-grant. The students are provided hostel accommodation inside the campus at Manora Peak. The students should have the following qualifications -
Academic Qualification :
- Masters degree in Physical sciences with at least 55% marks before 31.12.2009.
Essential Qualifications :
- UGC-CSIR (Physical sciences) qualified or
- GATE-2009 in Physics with percentile above 95. or
- JEST-2009 qualified (Rank 72 or above)
