Admission in Post M.Sc. – Ph.D. Programme 2008
The S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, a premier research institution engaed in advanced scientific research in a number of areas and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, invites motivated students to apply for its Post – M.Sc. – Ph.D Programme 2008.
1. Qualification: M.Sc. in Physics/ Physical Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Biophysics/ Biochemistry/ Bioinformatics with at least 55% marks (Completed or Appearing).
2. Eligibility for Interview: JEST/ GATE score of 2008, NET qualification (JRF/LS) (Score may be provided later if not available before the deadline).
3. Desired field of Study: The Candidates are required to mention in the application the research area (department) which he/ she would like to be considered for admission. A list of research areas and the faculty interested in them can be found on the S N Bose Centre's Website.
4. Interview of Short listed candidates: Dates 17-20 June, 2008 in Kolkata.
5. Monthly Stipend: As per CSIR (JRF) scale for first two years then upgraded to SR scale on satisfactory performance.
6. Application Deadline: 15th April 2008
